Visitors at Mayo Clinic in Rochester can now learn more about the rich history and promising future of research at Mayo Clinic. Newly opened, the Mayo Clinic Research Information Center provides opportunities for visitors to engage through interactive displays, video, illustrations and print materials about past and current Mayo Clinic research.
“We are putting the face of research at Mayo Clinic where visitors can experience it,” says Eric Matteson, M.D., coordinator of the project. “Research is integral in providing the best care to every patient. Now patients, family members, potential research participants, and the public have a resource for information about Mayo’s discoveries and innovations.”
“Today’s research is tomorrow’s treatment,” says Robert Rizza, M.D., executive dean for Research. “We hope this new center conveys to patients and the public the value that Mayo places on research in improving their lives and advancing medical science.”
Located adjacent to the Gonda street-level information desk, the center is open during business hours and trained staffed will be available to answer questions.
