Zebrafish Team Makes Splash at White House

By @

This is one of those stories where the text is almost superfluous. We've mentioned previously that the group called InSciEd Out, which launched a zebrafish-based genomics curriculum in a Rochester middle school, was headed for Washington to present seven posters at the annual meeting of the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science). While that event went well, the lunch arranged at the White House the day before was the high point. What was supposed to be a brief tour and a lunch in the Situation Room turned into the photo you see here. Mr. Obama greeted them all and praised them for their work on teaching and enthusiastic student hugged the president. Mr. Obama said "It's amazing you're here. We need more teachers and more scientists."
