Mayo Ranked Highest Value by Postdocs

Every year the magazine The Scientist conducts a reader response survey on the best places to work, including reactions on the best place to do a postdoctoral fellowship. The survey is based solely on reader response, as the editors explain:

"The Scientist posted a Web-based questionnaire and invited readers of The Scientist and registrants on The Scientist web site who identified themselves as non-tenured life scientists working in academia or other non-commercial research organizations to respond. We received 3,105 usable responses."  - survey methodology from The Scientist.Com    The survey includes universities, academic medical centers, science foundations and corporations.

This year Mayo Clinic ranked 10th nationally  in the Best Places to Work for Postdocs. That's up from 24th last year.  In the breakdown of strengths, Mayo was considered number one in the value of the experience one received from completing a fellowship here and third overall in terms of employment benefits. This seems to underscore the traffic we experience on our postdoc jobs page - it's one of the top visited sections of Mayo's research web site.  For insights on doing a postdoc at Mayo, visit the Mayo Research Fellows Association.
