I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease after my blood work showed elevated liver enzymes. This diagnosis has completely baffled me and can’t seem to find a doctor to help me understand my diagnosis or how I can help my condition from progressing. I do not drink alcohol at all (zero and never have been a drinker or smoker) and follow a very clean diet. In addition, I am an avid 48 year old marathoner and multiple Ironman finisher with 12% body fat. I have seen a liver specialist which confirmed my diagnosis but he doesn’t seem to know how I got it and hasn’t given me direction on how to treat or stop the profession. Would love some advice as I want to continue my very active lifestyle and live a long healthy life.
