exercisingA work site wellness center could be an important factor in controlling the costs of health care while encouraging healthy behavior says a Mayo Clinic study. Research published this month in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine showed cost savings averaging several thousand dollars per person visiting Mayo’s employee wellness center, as well notable reductions in weight and Body Mass Index (BMI). This research was conducted by researchers in the Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery. The center is committed to finding ways to enhance the patient's experience with health care by improving quality, outcomes and cost.
