A work site wellness center could be an important factor in controlling the costs of health care while encouraging healthy behavior says a Mayo Clinic study. Research published this month in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine showed cost savings averaging several thousand dollars per person visiting Mayoâ€™s employee wellness center, as well notable reductions in weight and Body Mass Index (BMI).
